Dear Colleagues,

The UI Faculty Senate invites you to recommend initiatives that could have a major impact on the teaching, research, and/or service missions of UI.

As you recall, we made a similar request last Spring. Thank you for your earlier suggestions. Some have already been incorporated into the work of the Strategy Implementation Team (SIT) and Operations Team (OT), which have been tasked to prioritize and develop strategic initiatives for UI. The SIT and OT teams have substantial representation from shared governance. Sub-committees are being created to address specific initiatives. The charges and members of the existing sub-committees can be found at https://pathforward.uiowa.edu/.

Please submit your recommendations before October 21.  We have established a dropbox on the Faculty Senate website for submitting your ideas: http://www.uiowa.edu/facultysenate/forms/strategic-priority-recommendations.  Faculty Council will synthesize and prioritize them for submission to the SIT and OT process in late October. Suggestions submitted in the Spring that are not currently assigned to a SIT or OT team will be included in this process.

We anticipate that this will be an ongoing process of campus-wide collaboration to develop and implement new strategic initiatives.
